The Rams finished off their regular season schedule tonight with a 12-3 victory over Atlantic Division rival George Mason. Eight different players scored in the blowout, with Dallas Woods(two goals, three assists) and Tyler Smith (two goals, two assists) leading the way. In a complicated tie breaker scenario (due to Catholic, William & Mary and VCU all finishing with 12-2 records), the Rams will now go to Charlotte, NC to defend their title as the third seed from the Atlantic Conference. In their first round matchup, the Rams will face off against second seeded William & Mary 6pm Friday at Extreme Ice Center. Three Rams receive All BRHC Honors

Today the BRHC has named their 1st and 2nd Team All BRHC Honors. Senior forward Dallas Woods and Freshmen Defenseman Max Greenfield were both named to 1st Team All BRHC while Junior Goalie Colin Davis was named to the 2nd Team All BRHC. This is Woods' 3rd time being named to the 1st Team All BRHC. The BRHC will announce the winner of league MVP next weekend in Charlotte, NC during the playoffs.
Schedule Changes due to Blizzard of 2010

The inclement weather experienced by the mid Atlantic over the past few weeks has forced VCU hockey to change their schedule around a bit. First off, January 31st non-league match up vs #10 Salisbury was cancelled due to snow. Last weekend's match up against conference foe VMI were originally postponed, but after not being able to reschedule the games prior to playoffs, VMI (the home team) was forced to accept 1-0 forfeits for both games. And finally, due to the heavy snow experienced over the past week up in Northern Virginia, both GMU and VCU have agreed to postpone the game to next Saturday, February 20th. VCU Wins Big in First Two BRHC League Games

This past weekend VCU opened up their BRHC league schedule by beating their opponents by a combined score of 20-6. Friday Night the squad beat the 2008-2009 Mason Dixon League Champions and BRHC newcomers, Catholic University 8-5. For a in depth game write up, be sure to visit www.hockeyyall.com. Saturday, the Rams traveled to Roanoke to faceoff against the only BRHC team to beat them last season, Radford. The Rams dominated from the drop of the puck till the final whistle winning 12-1. This coming Friday the guys will travel to Yorktown to take on ODU, before returning home Saturday to play against division rival, William & Mary. Puck will drop at 830pm at the Richmond Ice Zone.
2009-2010 VCU Hockey Tryouts

VCU hockey club will be holding tryouts for the 2009-2010 team at Skate Nation Plus on the following Dates: Sunday 6:10pm and Monday at 10:10pm. Tryouts will cost $30 a player to help cover ice time costs. Each player is encouraged to show up an hour early to each tryout for team assignments.
